Pretend, for a moment, that there is a sudden, unscheduled, world-wide pandemic. And pretend, for a moment, that while you are perfectly content to sit in your living room and watch Netflix, catching up on all the movies you missed over the years, or reading that massive stack of books that you somehow never had the time to read, other people want to talk to you. Not just individuals, but whole groups of people.
And you hear about something called Zoom. And after a year of fooling with it, you wonder: do I really understand Zoom? And you wonder, "How many sentences can I start in a row using the word 'and' before someone notices?"
Many of us are finding connection with family, friends, and organizations through meetings on Zoom. Join Cal Simone (formerly of AppleScript fame) to discuss and explore Zoom. The session will include:
At 11:00 am, Cal Simone will talk about Zoom. Cal has had three lives: a record producer, a software developer and presenter (sometimes called "the spiritual father of AppleScript"), and as a Jungian consciousness teacher, writer, and speaker. He spent three years doing the technical stuff on about a thousand Maestro and Zoom calls.
The meeting will start at 10:00 a.m. Our guest speaker will start his presentation about 11:00 a.m. During Q&A periods, please locate the "Raise Hand" in the Reactions option to get the attention of the host and/or post your question in the Chat window. A true "learning" experience.
We also encourage you to send your question(s) prior to the meeting to: office@wap.org
The invitation to the Zoom meeting will be posted on the Pi's conferencing system, the TCS, and sent out to members via Email.
Please check your Zoom profile online to be sure it contains your full name, because for security reasons, we cannot let anyone in without their full name. Important! If you've downloaded Zoom in the past, please check to see that it is version 5.5 or greater before the meeting.
We will try to stream the meeting through the Pi website: https://www.wap.org/live/
